For the last four years, my wife and I have participated in Houston’s Lawndale Art Center Fall Día de los Muertos non-juried art exhibtion and silent auction. Participants are given the opportunity to create their own unique visual interpretation of the Mexican holiday. Artists are given a small sheet of tin that they must use in their piece. Beyond that requirement, pretty much anything goes. Then on opening night, it’s great fun to people and bid-watch.
